Haunted Happenings at the Admiral Fell Inn

In honor of the 31 Days of Weird Celebration, one Memorable Moments contributor shares her story about her haunted experience at the Admiral Fell Inn, one of the Harbor Magic Hotels in Baltimore. Something spine-chilling is happening at this haunted Inn!

"It was winter of 2003. My three year-old son and I were visiting the Admiral Fell Inn in Fell's Point, Maryland. This historic hotel is famous for its stories of ghost sightings and even offers ghost tours and storytelling to aid in the adventure. On this day I was carrying my son on my hip down the fourth floor hallway. We were taking a tour of the property, guided by the hotel's General Manager. We paused to visit and read about the name plagues on the doors, each telling a story of a specific sea captain who frequented the Inn in its' early days. Behind us was a large picture window that looked out over a small cobblestone courtyard. The courtyard was secluded from the street by a six-foot white fence and an arched, locked gate. Hotel guests could step out for a breath of fresh air at their leisure. My son tapped me slightly on the shoulder to get my attention. I was engrossed in the story being told by our tour guide and ignored his attempt to gain my attention. He tried again and again until I turned to face him. He was smiling and waving into the courtyard. I asked him what he was waving at - there was no one there.

He replied, "That lady Mommy - in the big dress."

Just then, the locked gate opened up and slowly closed again. A chill ran down my spine. My little boy simply smiled and waved goodbye.

Later that day we were in the lobby and he was busying himself with some coffee table books. One told the tales of the history of the Admiral Fell Inn. He opened it to a sketch of a maid that worked at the Inn in the late 1700's. He squealed, "Mommy - here is my friend from the window!"

Something weird is happening at the Admiral Fell Inn... Better check it out!"

I'm getting the chills just reading this story, I couldn't have handled being there and seeing this ghost! I get scared so easily! What a wonderful story though, does anyone else have great ghost stories?

If you ever been in this hotel, you can sense that it's full of stories and ghosts. Just take a walk around and go downstairs to the bar and dining area and experience the feeling. It is weird!

Wow, you've got to love these stories!
Book one of their fantastic weekend packages and don't miss the "Ghost Tour": it's fun and educational and you'll love their historic building with it's uneven floors and hidden stairwells.

There are tons of cool ghost stories of the Admiral Fell Inn and of Fells Point in general. I recommend staying at this charming hotel and walking the cobblestoned streets and checking out all the one-of-a-kind shops. Maybe also go on a ghost tour.

I've stayed at this hotel and it is really cool! I love ghost stories but my wife is scared to death of them. Finally got her to go and we had a wonderful time. The staff is unbelievable! They truly make you feel at home. Even my wife wants to go back and stay there again. They are right on the water at Fells Point and in the heart of Baltimore.

I recently stayed at the Admiral Fell Inn for the first time and it was an amazing hotel! Although I wasn't lucky enough to witness a ghost, you can feel the history as you walk through the building. What a great place to stay at during the Halloween holiday!

oh no! I don't live that far from the Admiral Fell Inn. That is so creepy. I have always wanted to do the Fells Point Ghost walk but have been too afraid that I would discover something scary about one of my favorite bars or worse...my own house.

Wow! Great story! I don't believe in Ghost stuff but I am sure interested in visiting the Admiral Fell Inn just to see if I get a glimpse of the Ghost! Might just change my mind on my "no ghost" belief!

I was there at Halloween a couple of years ago, and desperately wanted to see a Ghost. No luck on my stay. But my friend goes there frequently, and she says that every time she stays, the ghost messes with her thermostat in the room and turns the heat up real high, although she knows she puts it down low before going to sleep.
I keep expecting to one day find the AFI on the "Ghost Hunters" show on Syfy or something, because even though i've never witnessed anything myself, i've heard too many tales to brush it off!
