What is a Memorable Moment?

It is not about the stuff we buy or the big, huge vacations. The magic is in the moment. Memorable Moments are moments to remember. When do they happen? It might be that moment when you look around the hotel room and everyone is truly relaxed and having fun…biting into a pizza that just seems to taste better because it was delivered in your hotel room while you relax in your PJs. It might be that moment when you sip that perfect glass of champagne and look at him the same way you did the first night you fell in love. It might be that moment when you face the hated roller coaster just because the kids threw out a challenge and you just had to do it. It might be that moment you smile - - feeling all is right in the world because you stopped with those you love for just a moment and enjoyed life. There is a wonderful saying, “Life isn’t about the moments we breathe – it is about the moments that take our breath away.” Breath taking moments are found in the simplest, most authentic life happenings. We have two choices as people who desperately want to have bank accounts filled with moments to remember to withdraw from in our latter years. Choice one is to hope that memorable moments happen and hope we are awake enough to capture and deposit them. Choice two is much smarter…we can actually schedule opportunities for them to happen. We can book the hotel room, buy the theme park tickets, make the dinner reservations and pick out the most comfortable pajamas while we search the pizza menu. This summer I have secured a hotel room and baseball tickets to see the St. Louis Cardinals. I have the date blocked out, bought great seats in the stadium and reserved the hotel with a pool and unique breakfast offerings. Plus I know there is a pizza delivery service close by. Now all I have to leave to circumstance is the hope that two little boys and their parents will relax and have fun doing what families all over America are doing…enjoying the summer and making memories to last a lifetime…Memorable Moments in the making. What Memorable Moments are you planning for this summer?
